30 May Lynn’s Place Construction Full Steam Ahead
Nearly six months after breaking ground on Lynn’s Place, construction on our first affordable housing complex continues to move at a rapid pace.
Recent rain and wind did nothing to stall the progress, as work crews continue to build what’s soon to be a haven for many low-income families in the Bronx. Underground plumbing and excess soil removal are now complete, with steel column anchor bolts drilled and in place. Workers began laying Masonry blocks for the building’s basement last week.
In addition to helping to reduce homelessness in New York City, Lynn’s Place will be an essential resource for mentally challenged individuals who will occupy approximately 20 apartments in the unit. First Lady of New York City Chirlane McCray recently praised Unique People Services during Mental Health Awareness Month for “providing outstanding service to those among us who need help most…a launchpad to a better life.”
Our nonprofit agency has been a lifeline to hundreds of individuals for 25 years. We look forward to transforming more lives in the community when Lynn’s Place opens its doors next year!
