March Women’s History Month and on March 23, 2018, Yvette Brissett-Andre, Executive Director of Unique People Services( UPS) will participant in THE 2018 WOMEN’S RESILIENCE CONFERENCE hosted by The Hostos Center for Bronx Nonprofits and The New York Women’s Foundation.
The conference is designed to share the important work being done by community organizations around the issues facing women. The day will be filled with inspiring stories of empowerment, as well as amplifying the great work of Bronx nonprofit women leaders and how they are achieving justice and equality for those that their organizations serve. In attendance will be nonprofit leaders and staff, students, those working in the fields of domestic abuse, children and family services, public policy makers, government relations and community affairs professionals.
Ms. Brissett-Andre, states, “I am honored to participate is such a timely and important event. The theme for 2018 National Women’s History Month is “Nevertheless, She Persisted: Honoring Women Who Fight All Forms of Discrimination against Women, and it aligns perfectly with the principles of UPS to give the voiceless a voice.” “This event magnifies advocates like myself whose work helps to empower and enhance the lives of women helping them improve their conditions and realize their fullest potential” Brissett-Andre further stated.
During the conference, Brissett-Andre will be a featured speaker at a “Pop up Table Talk”, where she will share information about UPS’ organizational mission and background. As Executive Director of one of the premier Bronx based non-profit, Unique People Services (UPS), Yvette Brissett-Andre is dedicated to enhancing the lives of over 800 of New York’s most vulnerable populations, by spearheading the vital programs for individuals with developmental disabilities, HIV/AIDS, and mental health challenges that UPS offers.
